Sunday Replay 12.12.10

The cold temps and the threat of a winter storm kept some folks in – but we still had a great crowd, with some first time guests, and some returning guests.

The worship band did a fantastic job! Thanks to Anya and Ben for putting together a great set – they drew our gaze toward God with songs that expressed adoration to Him, and encouraged the saints.

We continued “All I Want for Christmas” with a message on The Extravagant Gift… Extending the same grace God has given to us to others – especially the unlovely, ungraceful, and unforgiving people in our lives – is truly the most costly gift we can give. Loving like Jesus loved has the potential to change EVERYTHING.  You can listen online HERE

We are 3 weeks in to NewHope4Kids – our children’s ministry relaunch – and it’s a hit!  The kids are having a blast, and lives are being changed – 14 children have given their hearts to Jesus so far!  I’m hearing lots of great things about the new ministry from the volunteers. Michelle and Melissa are doing a fantastic job, and the transformation/transition isn’t even finished yet!  Watch for future updates!

I can’t say enough about what an amazing job Anya and her team did with the “Another Wonderful Christmas” event.  The actors nailed their parts, the musicians and singers were spot on, the crew executed without a hitch.  Thanks to Kevin Kayser for helping us gain access and cooperation when we needed it.  I look forward to what this bunch of performers will do next time!

We’re so excited about our “Simply Christmas” giving opportunity on Sunday, December 26.  We have set an ambitious goal, and we’re challenging everyone to put Jesus at the top of their Christmas gift-giving list this year.  The offering we raise will help fund three of our best outreaches (The Egg Drop, 4th of July, and Bible Beach Club), and help fund the continued transition of our children’s areas.  Please pray and seek the Lord for what He would have you give this year.

Come go caroling with us! Next Sunday we will meet up at the Gamel’s at 5:30 PM, to go out and bless our community with songs about our Savior’s birth.  The rumor is that everyone is bringing some snacks, drinks, or other goodies – and a little impromptu party might break out… Everyone is welcome!

Have a great week!
