Sunday Replay 12-16-2007

Seven days.  One week.  That’s how long my “pronouncement” that we WOULD NOT cancel services at Jubilee due to weather held true…  We cancelled Sunday.

It was a good call.  At 8:45 that morning, the wind and snow were blowing, we knew people from the outlying areas wouldn’t make it in, and we were afraid that those who did make it might not be able to get back home…

So we pulled the plug.  It was the right thing to do, but I have still taken a lot of good natured ribbing from folks who heard me make the “no cancellation” speech.  Hey, I can take it… If you need me, I’ll be over here in the “speaking without thinking” zone.

Big Thanks: To the guys who cleared snow from the parking lot and sidewalks!  Thanks Tony, John, Mike, and Bob.  I’m not sure if anyone else helped, but we sure do appreciate those who were willing to get out in that mess for the benefit and convenience of others.  Also, thanks to Ron, Kathy, Todd, and Ben for help getting the word out about the cancellation.

Christmas Program Update:  “Live from Bethlehem” will be presented by our children’s ministry this Sunday, December 23rd.  The adult program will most likely be presented on the evening of Sunday, December 30th, but we’ll keep you posted on that as it develops.

I’m so excited about what God has in store for Jubilee and our community in 2008!  We will kick start the New Year with a 6 week “church-wide expereince” called “Life on Loan.”  Through worship, messages, small groups, and personal study we will learn how God can and will use us and our “story” to impact a community with the Kingdom of God.  December 30th is “Registration Sunday.”  Keep watching and listening for more information.

Have a great week!
